This research was carried out in the green house, from March 1992 to December 1992. The laboratory analysis for soil was conducted at the Soil Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University in Bandung. Soil samples used were taken from Jasinga, Bogor, West Java. Phosphate fertilizer and phosphate solubilizing microorganism inoculation as the factors were arranged in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) will 4 x 2 factorial pattern and three replications. The rates of phosphate fertilizer were 0, 60, 120, and 180 kg ha-1 P2O5. The rates of inoculations were with and without phosphate solubilizing microorganism inoculations. The test plant used was upland rice of Dodokan cultivar and seeds were taken from BSB Ciganitri, Bandung. Result of the experiment showed that interaction effect was occured between phosphate fertilizer application and phosphate solubilizing microorganism inoculations on available phosphorus, phosphorus uptake and yield. The optimum rate of phosphate fertilizer was 112 kg ha-1 P2O5 with yield was 11,14 gram per bag for soil with inoculations and was 170 kg ha-1 P2O5 with yield was 10,23 gram per bag for soil without inoculations. Phosphate solubilizing microorganism inoculations increased yield 8,89% and decreased optimum rate of phosphate fertilizer to 58 kg ha-1 P2O5.
